INFLUENCING A NATION
EVEN THE WORLD
HUNDREDS OF CAMPUSES
OVER A MILLION STUDENTS
If this is home to over 8 million, 1 million+ are college students. There are more collegiates in this one city than some entire six-state regions! And though we already have a presence at several Brooklyn and Manhattan universities, only hundreds of students are being reached by tens of staff. Jesus says, '..the fields are ripe for harvest, but the laborers are few..' The aim now is to raise up Christ-centered multiplying movments across each of the five Burroughs (including the Bronx, Queens and Westchester county).
NYC boasts political leadership (UN Headquarters) corporate leadership (Stock Exchange and countless corporate headquarters) and cultural leadership (Broadway, fashion, subject of several movies and TV shows). Barak Obama, Donald Trump, JJ Abrams, the Olsen twins, Calvin Klein and many others all graduated from colleges in the city. We can see the impact they are having on our society every day. Imagine the message future leaders could broadcast to our world if someone were there to share the good news of how to begin a life-changing relationship with Christ!
As we continue in prayer for laborores and changed lives we are sobered by the magnitude of this vision! Millions given an opportunity to respond to the gospel! We cannot do this alone. It will take creative partnerships with many organizations and churches. Check out the video below to learn more about reaching an entire city! You can also partner with us in many ways to reach students for Christ.
There are countless numbers of ethnicities, nationalities, worldviews and backgrounds represented in the city. In fact more Jews currently reside in NYC than in the entire country of Israel! The Old Testament book of Joshua tells us that cities could be a place of refuge for the marginalized and oppressed, and NYC demonstrates this better than most places. It is home to some of the best and worst of mankind. And with such diversity is an ever-increasing realization of the vastness of God's creation.
